A person\u2019s time at Serenity House is a time to form healthy habits and establish a daily rhythm that will allow him or her to function without using substances. Most of the day is scheduled with activities and learning opportunities that both mirror the responsibilities of the real world and provide the patient with vital skills for his or her recovery.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Meditation
Specific time for meditation is an integral part of the Serenity House program. It allows clients to set specific recovery goals for each day, calm their bodies and minds, and foster a positive mindset. Establishing this habit is also something essential for a client\u2019s recovery after he or she leaves Serenity House.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pyschoeducational Lectures & Process Groups
During lectures, Serenity House\u2019s licensed counselors guide clients through the curriculum that helps them delve into the underlying factors contributing to their substance use. During process groups, clients digest the information they have learned and apply it to their own situations. They are able to share about their own substance use and life situations, and receive support from the Serenity House staff and their fellow clients.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Process Groups
Clients have the opportunity to meet daily with a core support group, along with trained counselors to work through the challenges and joys of their recovery process. This is a safe place where clients can process the myriad of emotions and struggles inherent to recovery from substance abuse.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Classes\/Exercise Time, Individual Study Time, and Individual Counseling
Twice every week, clients are given access to a local fitness center where they can use exercise equipment. On the other days, the early afternoon is spent in specialized group sessions and lectures on a variety of topics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Late afternoon is an opportunity to complete homework assignments involved in the cognitive behavioral therapy. A key aspect of the cognitive behavioral therapy philosophy is that it is very hands-on for the client. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
